Hooked On This! has over 30yrs of combined experience between myself and Salimah, whom share a great passion for the art of crochet. Can you tell us a little more about the ladies of Hooked On This and how you came to work together?Hooked On This: (Salimah) My version goes like this…I had my own business as did Ameenah.  I was struggling with keeping up with orders and I thought that I could really use someone that could help me through for the short term.  I approached several sisters that I had researched and asked them to submit a video and pictures of a little known stitch.  That way I would have an idea of how experienced they are even if they never have attempted the stitch before.  This meant at the very least that they could follow directions and could keep up with demand no matter what the request…Insha’Allah.  After speaking with Ameenah and getting her sample I was floored at her talent!  I quickly retracted my offer to only submit a new one… “Ameenah please become my partner”!  We just clicked Mash’Allah…her style complements mine and vice versa. On Wednesday, March 27, 2013 Najmah53 came to Philadelphia to host Daughters of the Deen: An Evening of the Arts. Immediately after she finished her hosting job, she  interviewed Margari Azizah Hill and Keziah Ridgeway for her show Spotlight with Najmah53 in honor of Women’s History Month! Margari is an Ivy league educated professor (Stanford University) in the Philadelphia area and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Delaware County Community College. She also is a mother, Freelance Journalist and Editor.
